Salary: 50,000 GBP to 60,000 GBP per annum dependent on experience

Package: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 24 days holiday per year rising to 28 with length of service, defined contribution pension scheme

The opportunity

As a Buying Manager you will be responsible for integrating into activities across the commercial function. You will purchase all materials and plant, and manage from the design stage to site delivery, ensuring all activities are following the business objectives and company procedures.
Day to day, you will work closely with the Commercial Director and Commercial team, attending site and design meetings. It will be your role to assess products, suppliers and incorporate them into construction procedures.

What do I need?

We are looking for a confident communicator as you will regularly meet with representatives and new/potential suppliers to gain information on new product, price negotiation, delivery queries and general partnership building.

You will have experience in the construction industry and be able to deliver at a high quality and accurate standard with an innovative, open and flexible approach to the business’ needs. A successful postholder will also have the following:

  • minimum ONC or equivalent in a construction related subject
  • membership to a professional body (e.g. CIOB or RICS)
  • membership to the CSCS scheme 
  • a high level of presentation and narrative drafting.
